This summer, two different projects will take Frank Markowitsch and the Vokalakademie Berlin to two of France and Germany’s most exciting festivals:

On Sunday, 17 June 2018, six soloists from the Vokalakademie Berlin will perform together with the Ensemble Sarband in the program Under One Sky as part of the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci. Psalm settings by Alî Ufkî, Claude Goudimel and Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck will be combined to create an extraordinary listening experience building bridges between Occident and Orient.

On Sunday, 19 August 2018, Markowitsch and the Vokalakademie Berlin will continue their collaboration with Jérémie Rhorer and Le Cercle de l’Harmonie at the Festival de La Chaise-Dieu. The program will feature Franz Schubert’s Stabat Mater as well as Christ on the Mount of Olives by Ludwig van Beethoven. Soloists will be Lenneke Ruiten (soprano), Mathias Vidal (tenor), and Jean-Sebastien Bou (baritone).
