The closing concert of the 40th Meersburg Summer Academy was a tremendous success. The academy is an advanced training course for school music teachers from throughout the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Under the direction of Frank Markowitsch, the choir and orchestra of the academy performed Dvořák’s Requiem in the Franciscan Church in Überlingen. The soloists were Anne Bretschneider (soprano), Hanna Roos (alto), Alexander Efanov (tenor), and Simon Robinson (bass). The Südkurier newspaper praised “a magnificent performance and a tremendous conclusion to the 40th Meersburg Summer Academy … Frank Markowitsch is a godsend for the academy!”
